Wolf Hollow I

Granbury, TX

 

Wolf Hollow I is a ~750 megawatt power plant located in Granbury, TX.  The plant is a modern gas-fired, combined-cycle facility making it one of the most efficient sources of dispatchable energy available to the Dallas-Ft. Worth metropolitan area.  The plant began commercial operations in August 2003.

Colorado Bend I

Wharton, TX

 

Colorado Bend I is a ~600 megawatt power plant located in Wharton, TX.  The plant is comprised of 2 modern gas-fired, combined-cycle “blocks” and 2 additional gas-fired, simple-cycle units (or “peakers”).  The combination of units at this site allows it to provide some of the most efficient and responsive sources of dispatchable energy available to the Houston metropolitan area.  The plant began commercial operations in May 2007.  The “peaker” units began operations in May 2023.

La Porte

La Porte, TX

 

LaPorte is a ~150 MW power plant located in the heart of the Houston Ship Channel refinery complex.  The plant is comprised of 4 separate gas-fired, simple-cycle units.  These units, commonly referred to as “peakers”, provide quick-start and rapid response at times when the grid is suddenly strained and are an increasingly vital component of the ERCOT market.
