TexGen owns over 2,200 MW of natural gas fired generation in Texas. Our corporate headquarters is located in Houston, TX. And our power plants are located near major metropolitan areas in Texas (Houston and Dallas-Ft. Worth). We exclusively serve wholesale power customers in Texas.
TexGen supports the Energy Transition by delivering reliable, dispatchable power in Texas. Our flexible, natural gas-powered generation assets support the Texas grid during period of high customer demand and when intermittent resources (wind and solar) are not available.
TexGen is led by an experienced management team. We have compiled a small, but versatile team that leverages significant industry experiences and key third-party service contracts to efficiently optimize and manage our assets in the ERCOT market.
WOLF HOLLOW I
Wolf Hollow is a ~750 MW natural gas fired combined cycle plant configured as a 2x1 combined cycle block located in Granbury, TX. Wolf Hollow began commercial operation in August 2003.
COLORADO BEND I
Colorado Bend is a ~530 MW combined cycle plant configured as two 2x1 combined cycle blocks located in Wharton, TX. It began commercial operation of Block I in May 2007 and Block II in May 2008.
Mountain Creek is an ~800 MW natural gas thermal power plant located in Dallas, TX. Mountain Creek commercial operations date back to the 1940s, but each of the three current operating units began operation in 1956, 1958, and 1967.
LaPorte is a ~150 MW natural gas fired simple cycle plant located in LaPorte, Texas. LaPorte began commercial operation in July 2001. LaPorte is located 25 miles southeast of Houston.
Chief Executive Officer
An industry veteran with over 40 years of experience constructing, maintaining, and optimizing power assets in various U.S. and international power markets. Recent roles include Chief Operating Officer at Blackstone's Kindle Energy, Executive Vice President of Calpine, and Executive Vice President of Mitsubishi Power Systems.
